Here’s a fun video of E.T Marshall, more famously known as The Last Male Twirling Baton Thrower. This entertaining 83 year old is no sedentary senior! His twirling baton throws are in excess of 70 feet high and start with his trademark wind up and bop against the ground!

What could be more fun than baton twirling and Disney all mixed together? The fantastic annual event known as Twirl Mania is convening now at Disney World in Florida. Baton twirling athletes, their families and their friends are coming together from many points around the globe for this 15th Anniversary version of Twirl Mania, Februrary 19-22, 2010. Twirl Mania is very excited to be incorporating the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex into this year’s activities.
Twirl Mania focuses on every participant being a winner, on comradery and on the building of friendships through baton twirling. Many terrific events are scheduled. Competitions are held for every skill level of baton twirler…novice, beginner, intermediate, advance, and elite. The youngest pee wee athletes as well as collegiate athletes will be performing. Baton twirling teams and corps will also be competing. Special recognition awards are planned to acknowledge excellence in coaching, sportsmanship and scholarship.
What other fun and surprises are in store? Internationally acclaimed twirlsport and cirque artist Annetta Lucero for one! Twirlers of all ages have downloaded music and a routine, and will perform together in a parade through the Disney Parks. An athletes clinic will provide a stimulating learning opportunity. And parties are scheduled start to finish with a Welcome Party for coaches and judges as well as the special 15th Anniversary Bash.

A YouTube performance by baton twirler Mei Mauro caught Ellen’s eye, and now the 12 year old powerhouse is scheduled to show off her skills on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Mei is traveling all the way from Tokyo to make her television debut. She is a member of the Seijo Baton Club in Japan.
