2011 USTA Baton Twirling Nationals Commence in Little Rock

The prestigious, annual U.S. National Baton Twirling Championships begin on July 11 in Little Rock, Arkansas. These exciting twirling Championships are attracting 600 athletes representing 25 states, and are sponsored by the USTA (United States Twirling Association).

The 2010 USTA National Baton Twirling Grand Champions

The week-long schedule is full of competitive events that culminate in the selection of Grand Champion athletes.

July 11, 8 am-6pm: U.S. PreTrials – a prestigious event that prepares athletes for the rigors of international competition
July 12, 8 am-5 pm: 2 Baton and 3 Baton – highly difficult events using two or three batons which must be kept moving at all times
Strut and Dance Twirl – beautiful but demanding events combining baton twirling with dance and gymnastics
July 13, 8 am-6pm: Solo – an exciting event using one baton which is rolled, flipped and tossed around the body and through the air at great speed
July 14-15, 8 am-3 pm: Teams – the crowd will be on its feet as groups of twirlers perform synchronized twirling and challenging exchanges
July 16, 8 am-5 pm: Festival of the Future – a national competition just for beginner and intermediate twirling athletes

The 2011 USTA United States Twirling Association National Championships are being held in Little Rock

The USTA is excited to be holding their Nationals in the beautiful Jack Stephens Center at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Many of the events are free and open to the public.
