Twirling World Championships ~ Results Are In!

April 24th, 2009 · No Comments · Videos: Baton Pairs and Teams, Videos: Baton Soloists

The NBTA (National Baton Twirling Association) World Championships were held earlier this month in Ghent (Gent), Belgium.  The results are in!

This duet performance by Chelsea Russell and Karrissa Wimberley brought home a gold medal for the USA!

You may recall Jonathan Burkin and his America’s Got Talent performance of last year. Jonathan helped bring baton twirling front-and-center into the public’s awareness. This was his Rhythmic Twirl performance in the finals of this year’s World Championships.

Remember little miss, 11-year old Rebecca Lantz? We wrote about her in an earlier blog post. She represented the USA well with this Dance Twirl performance.

This is Cyril Martin of France competing in the Senior Men’s 2-Baton event.

The World Championships also include a competition for twirling corps, which is a larger group of twirlers. This crowd pleasing routine by the corps from Holland ends in a standing ovation. Enjoy the unison of these 20 twirlers, and big variety of patterns on the floor they create, in this enthusiastic performance!

Full credit and great thanks to these videographers for sharing thier YouTube videos:  kratif, popaholic72008, samanthas86, and kyrahaverkampnl.
