January 10th, 2011 · No Comments · Marching Bands, Drum Majors, Color Guards, Drum Corps, Videos: Baton Soloists

The Feature Twirler with the University of Washington Husky Marching Band performed with the band at the recent Holiday Bowl in San Diego. She is Catherine Watters, an accomplished competitive baton twirler originally from southern California.

This video was taken on the USS Ronald Reagan before a special Navy & Marine Corps Luncheon.

Catherine was a gold medalist at the NBTA National Baton Twirling Association World Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands in 2006. Baton twirling has taken her around the world and she was selected to proudly represent the sport during a charitable fund raising trip in Peru. Catherine is a former Miss Tustin and competed in the Miss California pageant, where she won the talent award. She is currently a member of the Chi Omega sorority.

So very proud of Catherine! It’s wonderful to see baton twirling highlighted by way of such a worthy representative!
