The exciting 2011 International Cup baton twirling championships are drawing to a close this weekend. In this last video installment, USTA (United States Twirling Association) President Mark Nash talks with BatonBiz.com about the speed drill challenge and about the Twirl Nations international baton clinic.

The Twirl Nations clinic is an exceptional opportunity for baton twirlers and baton coaches to learn from some of the world’s most influential baton twirling talent. Jean-Michel Ruelle from France, and three of his skillful twirling coaches, Alexandra Royer, Alexandre Claveau, and Sabrina Cannistra, will be teaching the “Fabulous French Flair”. Christian Altenburger of Switzerland, will be teaching twirling combinations with Broadway-inspired musicality. He also takes his influence from the world-renowned dance company, Bejart. Bridgette Bartley Ridley of the USA, will be teaching interpretive movement with baton, inspired by her Cincinnati Ballet and Rhythm in Motion background. Mike Harris from the USA, has a background in Winter Guard color guard and Drums Corps International drums and bugle corps. He will be teaching about the value of improvisation and creativity. Ginnette Groome, also of the USA, will be teaching multiple baton work with 2-baton and 3-baton, drawing on her “Art of Juggling” expertise and extensive knowledge.
